Carbon Verification

Every day that Brominata is fed to cows, the future looks a little brighter.

The pinnacle of corporate responsibility…

Our corporate partners recognize their potential to contribute to a sustainable future, and they own the responsibility for the impact their operations have on the planet. They value action over marketing, with projects that are:

  • Immediate: decarbonizing starting on Day 1 and every day forward

  • Substantial: completely eliminating sources rather than making incremental or marginal fixes

  • Nature-based: prioritizing the power of nature over laboratories, drugs, or machines

  • Internal: controlling one's own supply chain emissions rather than offsetting them with external projects

…certified to the highest standard

Verra, the world’s leading voluntary carbon registry, has developed the leading industry standard around reducing enteric methane. Blue Ocean Barns follows this rigorous multi-step process to certify carbon credits.

Blue Ocean Barns follows international best practices in connection with the GHG project as set out in the GHG Protocol, Gold Standard, ICROA, and others. Our reductions are measurable, permanent, additional, and independently verified, which assures stakeholders, including auditors, of their validity.

Carbon credit project stakeholders

Per Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) rules, all projects are required to undergo a Stakeholder Consultation process. This process ensures that all projects gather feedback from a multitude of industry or community voices that may be impacted by the project. This also enables the program to continue to be rigorous, robust, and transparent.

“[Stakeholder] consultations allow stakeholders to evaluate impacts, raise concerns about potential negative impacts, and provide input on project design.”

–VCS Standard (v4.2)

Blue Ocean Barns welcomes all potential stakeholders to sign up for our carbon credit project mailing list. Potential communications include new project listings, general project information, verification completion, public presentations, or other opportunities for stakeholders to provide feedback.
